Firemen's Band History FCB: our current history

welcome to the Freeport Community Band, Freeport, New York

Welcome to the

Freeport Community Band!

Established in 1921 and proud to call Freeport, New York our home!

Who Are We?

The Freeport Community Band is an all-volunteer concert band made up of musicians from all walks of life; from high school students to retirees, from hobbyists to professionals, and from all occupations. Our members, currently numbering over sixty, join us not only from Freeport and its neighboring towns in Nassau County, but from Suffolk, Kings, and Queens Counties as well.

Our members may have many differences, but our love of music is what brings us together. In fact, some of us have been playing together for over 30 years! The band meets regularly to practice and become acquainted with all forms of music (old standards to modern day). Our extensive library includes marches, showtunes, rock 'n roll, opera, folk songs, and symphonic pieces. We also perform between two and four free concerts for the public each season (September through December and January through July).

Want to Join?

The Freeport Community Band is always looking for new members and all sections of the band are open to qualified musicians with concert band experience. No musician will be denied membership into the Band based on race, color, religious or political beliefs, nation of origin, age, or sexual orientation.
